Sources, examples and corrections

Color Match guides help people make and verify color decisions. We separate numeric results, published requirements and design suggestions so readers can check each kind of claim.

What an example should include

Calculation examples identify the input colors, the relevant text or UI requirement, and the resulting value. Revised guides link to their primary references and to a tool that can reproduce the example. Design preferences are not presented as universal rules.

Dates and attribution

A publication date records the original article. An updated date records a substantive revision. The Color Match byline identifies this publication; Color Match is responsible for its operation and corrections. All 28 existing guides were revised on September 13, 2026 with sources and reproducible examples. This is not independent certification.

Report a correction

Send the page URL, input values and a reference or expected result. Include the foreground/background order for contrast reports. We use this information to reproduce the issue and update the calculation or explanation.
